A heavier weight silk cotton sarong printed to 200cm x 100cm from my “Northern Lights” painting; creating wonderfully abstract textures on a large scale. Finished with a bright orange cotton trim which really pops in the sunshine!
We love wearing as a full sarong, tied around the waist or as a more traditional wrap on chilly evenings.
We hand wrap each item in one of our gorgeous silk pouches (made using off-cuts from our “Tree” silk scarves), so it arrives looking special and provides a great way to store your scarf. Both packing and postage is included in the price shown.
Our scarves are ethically produced and created using environmentally considerate dyes and natural materials.
"NORTHERN LIGHTS" COLOUR STORY
The Northern lights aren’t usually associated with more southern parts of the UK, but this year is special. The sun is becoming more active with more powerful solar storms as it enters the peak of an 11 year cycle and so this incredible spectacle of light will be more visible than it has been over the past decade. Especially in the North of England, which inspired my original painting. The painting explores the simplification of colour and pattern as the aurora swirls through the sky. Flashes of bright pink and vibrant green light up an indigo blue sky with layers of texture visible through the inky shadows of the surrounding land and sea. The contrasting colours look wonderful on our new collection of silk and cashmere art scarves. It’s a real celebration of one of the greatest wonders of the world.
